Gin: Craft, Flavor & Inspiration

Gin is a versatile spirit known for its signature juniper flavor, giving it a distinct piney and citrusy character. It forms the base of timeless cocktails like the Martini, Negroni, and Gin and Tonic, making it a favorite in bars and homes alike.

What makes gin truly special is its blend of botanicals — from coriander and citrus peel to cardamom and cinnamon — allowing distillers to craft distinctive flavor profiles. Because gin can be produced anywhere in the world, it has sparked a modern craft renaissance full of creativity and experimentation.

Gin Facts

  • Juniper must be the dominant flavor in every gin.

  • Popular styles include London Dry (crisp and dry), Old Tom (slightly sweeter), and Plymouth (earthier and smooth).

  • The Gin & Tonic originated when British soldiers in India mixed gin with quinine-rich tonic water.
