Day 3: Winter Wonderland

Now, it’s finally time to start infusing your whiskey! For this, Vanilla Dream is the perfect wood chip to set the stage. Sweet yet elegant, it brings the rich warmth of vanilla and the crisp freshness of oakwood to your whiskey. Add a quarter to half the vial’s contents into the glass vessel. Let the chips steep to release just the right amount of tannins. To avoid spilling any of this magical essence, you can use a funnel for assistance.

Once the chips are in, the magic begins. Allow them to infuse your whiskey for as long as you desire. The longer they soak, the bolder the flavor becomes. Not sure how much flavor you’d like? Start slow, and taste your whiskey periodically during the infusion to find your perfect balance of vanilla oak. A good starting point is to let it mature for at least a few days, but we recommend first sampling your creation after two days. If the taste feels just right, great! If not, you can add more wood chips in small intervals while tasting in between, until you achieve your desired richness.
